Hikers arriving by foot

We frequently host folks who are hiking around the island, whether we are your first stop after Rønne (ca. 32 km, much of it sand and rock), or towards the end of your days-long hike around Bornholm, as you round the southeastern corner. We are ready to welcome you with a warm shower, cold drinks and snacks/lite meals for sale in our cafe, a first aid kit for treating blisters, and cozy places to rest and recuperate. Our buffet breakfast in the morning will go far to fuel the next leg of your trip.

Special information for those hiking and biking

Myregaard Bornholm is 5 km from the nearest grocery stores and restaurants. We have drinks (beer, wine, sodas) and snacks for sale, along with some simple frozen meal offerings, in our cafe. Or you may want to stop en route to dine or to buy food to prepare and enjoy in our fully equipped guest kitchen.

When hiking or biking from Rønne, the trip is 26 km (along the main road) and approximately 32 km along the coastal hiking route. During the summer season, you can enjoy a wonderful meal en route, just 6 km from Myregaard, at the friendly waterfront smokehouse Bakkarøgeriet (Østre Sømarksvej 29, 3720 Aakirkeby, near the Route 10 bike path). If you’d rather make your own meal in our guest kitchen, be sure to buy groceries at Pedersker’s Dagli Brugsen (Pedersker Hovedgade 58, 3720 Aakirkeby; 5 km from Myregaard).

When hiking or biking from the Nexø side of the island, we recommend you stop in Snogebæk to dine at one of the many restaurants in that lively little harbor town, or buy groceries at Snogebæk’s Dagli Brugsen (5 km via Poulskervej; 8 km if you take the Route 10 coastal path). There is also a Diner & Steakhouse at Dueodde, 5 km from Myregaard.

If you’d rather settle into your room before dinner, you can always set out again by bike to eat at one of the restaurants in the surrounding area. Hikers have the option to rent a bike at Myregaard.

Remember that you have the option to order breakfast in the morning. We serve a generous buffet breakfast with plenty to fuel the next leg of your trip, including warm rolls with plenty of toppings: meats, cheeses, jams, butter, and sliced veggies; soft boil eggs (hard boiled on request); and fruit, yoghurt, muesli and oats. Drinks include coffee, a selection of teas and juice. Breakfast costs kr. 90 per person.

And remember to take a flashlight with you! There are no street lights on our country roads at night – which is great for seeing the stars, but not for seeing the pathway!
